Burlington at Bolcum Roadway Reconstruction
To alleviate congestion and enhance safety at the T intersection of Bolcum Road at Burlington Road in the Village of Campton Hills, IL, STV provided construction management (CM) for the conversion to a roundabout and associated roadway improvements for the Kane County Division of Transportation (KDOT).

As a global commercial center and national memorial site of unequaled magnitude, the World Trade Center (WTC) presents a unique security challenge for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ). To protect thousands of daily visitors and the public’s enormous investment in Lower Manhattan’s restoration, STV, in joint venture, has designed a one-of-a-kind security checkpoint and bus parking garage for screening vehicles before they enter the 16-acre site. The firm has provided architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, geotechnical, structural, civil, traffic, security, and communication services for the concrete- and steel-fortified facility.
The center will be the least visible, but perhaps the most important, of any WTC landmark. Located within 3 stories beneath Liberty Park and St. Nicholas’ Greek Orthodox Church on the south side of the WTC complex, it will have a series of electronic security systems, fixed and active vehicle restraint barriers, state-ofthe-art screening equipment, and other high-tech, antiterrorism subsystems that every car, tour bus, delivery truck, or other vehicle must pass through as soon as they enter at Liberty Street.
Once cleared to enter, vehicles will descend a series of ramps and follow waymarks to various destinations. Up to 70 buses will be able to park within the facility and drop off tourists likely to visit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Other visitors, such as delivery drivers and businesspeople, will be able to move on through an underground system of roadways connecting to the seven office towers and other areas of the WTC complex.
